My area of expertise is the treatment of obesity and diabetes. I am well versed in the drug therapy of obesity and also gladly help you choose the right strategy and focus for lifestyle intervention. I can also help you prepare for bariatric surgery. I also provide postoperative follow-up. My guiding principle for obesity is that it is important to find the individual cause for obesity and choose treatment accordingly. Our goal is to find, together with the patient, a solution for long-term weight maintenance and sustained change.

As a specialist in internal medicine I also treat and diagnose other conditions relevant to my specialty such as high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, liver and kidney diseases, thyroid disturbances or fatigue with an unknown cause. If you are unsure about the cause or diagnosis behind your symptoms I will gladly help in finding the right solution or the right specialty to consult. My other areas of interest and expertise are related to diabetes: new drugs in the treatment of diabetes, adjusting insulin therapy in type 1 diabetes. I am also very familiar with insulin pump therapy and using glucose sensors in the care of diabetes.

My research focus is on fatty liver disease and its impact on health.
