You can consult a general practitioner at Eira on weekdays and appointments are usually available the same day. Our general practitioners also issue certificates of general health status.

You can consult general practitioners about the following matters

  • colds and flu
  • minor wounds
  • infections and communicable diseases
  • sprains
  • fractures
  • blood pressure and cholesterol measurement
  • certificates concerning health status
  • when you want to discuss matters related to your health.

If your problem requires a consultation with a specialist, the general practitioner can recommend and refer you to the appropriate doctor. There are no impediments to wheelchair or wheeled walker access to any of the doctors at the medical centre or the hospital.

  • certificate for divers
  • certificates for studies or for an employer
  • health certificate for young people.

NB! Benzodiazepine medication or CNS depressants

(CNS = affecting the central nervous system)

  • We do not renew benzodiazepine or ADHD medications at general practitioners' appointments for patients who have a treatment relationship elsewhere. Please be in contact with your attending physician regarding these.
  • For long-term users of CNS products, follow-up guidance for psychiatric care is recommended.

A clinic fee of 29,70 € will be added to the appointment price. A Kanta fee of 3,30 € is charged for all appointments where information is saved to My Kanta. Specialist-specific prices can be found on each specialist’s profile page.

  • Driving License Certificate

    You need a driving licence certificate if you are going to apply for a new driving licence. Professional drivers also need to obtain a medical certificate at regular intervals. Driving licence certificates are issued by general practitioners at Eira Hospital.

  • Seafarers Certificates

    You can have your seafarer’s certificate renewed at Eira Hospital. Seafarer’s certificates are issued by a maritime health doctor.

  • Certificate of Medical Fitness to Dive

    Diving requires the body to tolerate variations in pressure. A medical certificate that guarantees the diver’s safety is required for a diving certificate. A certificate of medical fitness is required for both sport divers and professional divers.

  • Visa Certificates

    At Eira Hospital, we issue medical examination certificates for work, studies as well as long-term residencies.
