At Eira hospital I mainly assess and treat patients with nerve compression symptoms presenting with neck-arm or back-lower limb pain, numbness or muscle weakness. Behind these symptoms there may be a disc herniation or/and spondylotic nerve canal narrowing ("wear-and-tear changes" of the spine). Often these symptoms resolve spontaneously, but in case of severe or long-lasting symptoms surgical treatment is needed.

I also have long experience in neurosurgical treatment of brain and pituitary tumours and neurovascular diseases. If necessary, I refer the patient to Helsinki University hospital for further diagnostic examinations or for surgical treatment.
